Virginia Museum Educator Award 2023

Amanda Williams is an excellent example of a forward-thinking, productive, education manager here at the MacArthur Memorial. Serving as the Education Manager for 13 years, she has created an outreach program that reaches various schools across the Hampton Roads and central Virginia area, that educates school-aged children with documents and artifacts from the Spanish American, WWI, and WWII eras. She provides specialized tours for our local military schools based on their needs of history. She goes above and beyond with her knowledge of women's suffrage and reaches out to multiple avenues of continued education. I believe that she deserves this award and acknowledgment for her professionalism, continued knowledge, and leadership she provides here at the MacArthur Memorial every day.
