Nominations Open for Conserving Diversity
Date postedNovember 9, 2020
For the 2020 edition of our nationally recognized Virginia's Top 10 Endangered Artifacts program, we introduce the special theme Conserving Diversity to highlight Virginia's underrepresented communities and their stories.
Whether documenting the native population, the enslaved who were brought to these shores against their will, the many who have struggled for equality, or the immigrant groups who have made Virginia their home, Virginia’s museums and collecting institutions hold these fascinating stories among their collections.
In efforts to recognize and celebrate the Commonwealth's lesser-known stories, museums, libraries, archives, historical societies, and other collecting institutions in Virginia and Washington, DC are invited to nominate artifacts that share the stories, accomplishments, and struggles of our diverse population and history.
