🌟 Flashback to the Past:
Who could forget the "1954 RR Moton High School Composite" from last year's nomination? The Robert Russa Moton Museum was awarded the Juried Award and was presented at the annual conference.
The artifact (shown right) showcases the Robert Russa Moton High School students who went on strike in 1951 to protest unequal school conditions. The students in the 1954 composite are some of the student strikers. Moton staff particularly wants to preserve the composite from the 1954 Brown v. Board decision year. The photos are attached by student names, so it is vital to reattach photos to keep students identified. This 70-year-old artifact is being evaluated for damages as it is being determined how best to protect it.
Stay tuned for more details and the call for nominations in January!
