Summary – The Marketing Coordinator at Historic Richmond plays a dual role, blending marketing strategy and creative design. This position is responsible for managing the organization’s brand, designing compelling visuals, and executing marketing initiatives that align with the strategic plan. The ideal candidate will balance creative instincts with strategic thinking, overseeing both the conceptualization and implementation of marketing campaigns across print, digital, and media channels.
Responsibilities –
Brand & Marketing Management
● Oversee Historic Richmond’s brand identity, including voice, tone, logo, colors, and
graphic design across all communications.
● Collaborate with the Executive Director and key staff to design and manage marketing
materials (e.g., brochures, newsletters, invitations, reports, web and social media
content).
● Ensure consistent brand application and update brand standards as needed.
● Develop persuasive layouts, infographics, and designs for print and digital media.
Strategic Communication
● Assist in crafting the communication strategy for Historic Richmond’s advocacy,
preservation efforts, and organizational news.
● Promote and market all Historic Richmond events, working closely with teams on
execution.
● Manage relationships with local and state media for organizational promotion.
Digital Marketing & Website
● Maintain and update website content to ensure alignment with the organization’s brand
and strategy.
● Troubleshoot and resolve website security, efficiency, and quality issues.
● Manage media purchases and develop partnerships with media outlets.
● Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, reporting on metrics and
making data-driven adjustments.
● Apply SEO and SEM best practices to optimize digital content and improve website
traffic.
Program & Event Support
● Assist with planning and executing educational programming, events, and tours in
coordination with the Preservation Team, ensuring alignment with marketing and
organizational goals.
● Coordinate logistics for events, including contract management for facility rentals.
Planning & Administration
● Prepare and execute an annual marketing plan in line with the strategic goals.
● Manage relationships with vendors, media partners, and board members.
● Support development efforts and collaborate on social media strategies.
● Work cross-functionally with internal teams and engage with external stakeholders to
ensure cohesive marketing execution.
Qualifications –
Bachelor’s degree with at least two years relevant experience in marketing or design.
● Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), WordPress, and
Canva.
● Experience with social media management and website content creation.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
● Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices.
● Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
● Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet
deadlines.
● Experience in video editing and multimedia content creation is a plus.
