Tuesday Talk: DEAI & Community Engagement

​Our July 7 online chat will continue our conversations on Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI) featuring guest facilitators Richard Josey and Veronica Gallardo. 

This series of conversations allows us to give attention to the breadth of needs and questions about DEAI work in the museum field. The facilitators have gathered some underlining DEAI topics from the participants regarding internal and external work needs. A question was asked on ”how do you become trusted in your community as the institution when your museum subject is up for question or opinionated debate itself? ” This Chat will reflect on community engagement practice. Come hear what The Valentine is achieving with community engagement efforts and explore how this might impact the work to come.
