The key to being a successful leader is understanding your own leadership style and how that influences the way you build and support your team. As staffing models evolve to meet the new realities, it’s critical for leadership to understand what influences both within and outside of the institution impact staff engagement.
Steven Blashfield, Principal and Director of the Cultural Studio, Glave & Holmes Architecture
An effective Master Plan for your site is an important asset to guide your organization forward through periods of change. As visitor experience trends continue to evolve, a Master Plan provides your organization a road map to achieve future goals and guide decision-making. This session will focus on understanding the planning process, how a Master Plan can support fundraising goals, and how the plan can serve as a tool to the long range health of your organization.
Nathan Stalvey, Director, Clarke County Historical Association
One of the trickiest aspects of becoming a leader is learning how to work with a Board of Directors. Board types, sizes, relationships with the Director and staff, and involvement all vary from one institution to the next. This topic will help you learn not only how to navigate the tricky waters of working for a Board, but also what you need to know to one day join a non-profit Board of your own.
