Advocacy Day Tips:

  • Members are encouraged to attend AAM Advocacy Day on February 24th and 25th. If you'd like to attend, please use the promo discount code to register: VAMMBR25

  • AASLH is a supporter of Museums Advocacy Day, organized by the American Alliance of Museums. Join us in Washington on February 24 – 25. Learn more and register here.
  • Helpful Apps--Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP) has created a nice app available for download to your phone in your app store that serves as a Virginia General Assembly Directory. It has all the House & Senate Members, Contact Information, Map of their new office in the General Assembly Building, and Committee Assignments. For Google Play, visit this link.

  • Attire--We suggest that you dress in business attire for this event--a suit isn't necessary, but you want to look tailored and professional.  Definitely choose comfortable shoes for walking, though--you will be doing a lot of that!

  • Parking--Parking is always an issue downtown during the General Assembly session, so be sure to leave time for a little circling or plan to use a nearby garage  Read more...
